Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

Kisan Credit Card (KCC)

The KCC scheme provides adequate and timely credit support from the banking system to farmers for their cultivation and other needs.

Financial Empowerment with KCC

The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme was introduced to provide farmers with timely credit at low interest rates. KCC covers everything from crop production expenses and post-harvest costs to household consumption requirements and farm asset maintenance. It eliminates the need for farmers to approach high-interest private moneylenders.

Key Benefits: - Lower Interest Rates: Loans provided at much lower rates compared to private lenders. - Flexible Repayment: Repayment schedule depends on the harvesting season of the crop. - Insurance Coverage: Farmers under KCC are often covered under crop insurance schemes. - Single Credit Facility: One card for all agricultural and allied needs.

Eligibility: 1. All farmers – individuals/joint borrowers who are owner cultivators. 2. Tenant farmers, oral lessees, and sharecroppers. 3. Self Help Groups (SHGs) or Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) of farmers.

How to Apply: Farmers can apply at any public or private sector bank, cooperative bank, or Regional Rural Bank (RRB). Documents required usually include identity proof, address proof, and land ownership records.
